Distributors Make New Year's Resolutions

With my health being so much of a challenge this past year, we realized that life is much too short, no matter how long you have, so first, we resolve to...

Spend MORE time travelling and enjoying each other's company and that of friends, old and new. We now know that we can utilize the Internet and be just as successful building our business from our vacation spots as we can from our house. Scent-Sations  has given us the ability to enjoy life and build a residual income at the same time.

Our next resolution is to find new and exciting ways to utilize our skills (both through the Internet and the real world via presentations and training) in order to help our team (and ANY other Scent-Team members who choose to attend) reach that same level of lifestyle. We want to teach people how the choices they make today CAN allow them to have the choices they want in the future!

A few years ago when Lise and I were having dinner at the house of Kenny Troutt (one of the Billionaires on Forbes top income lists), he told us of something his Mama Nadine used to say to him and I have always used it as my personal goal:

"On your way to the stars... take as many people with you as you can!"

Love to all and best wishes for a MOST SUCCESSFUL 2006!
John MacFadden

My personal plans are about driving our growth rate higher through increasing all methods recruiting. It should be fun.

The most important lesson I received from some of you is to take time off and enjoy yourself. You said you had fun (John and Lise, Jackie) living the lifestyle we talk about.

So, this year, I decided to take some vacations which I have neglected to do for the last few years. The first one is to Panama. I will be leaving on Jan 8 and returning Jan 18th.

Sincerely,
Bob Schmitz

What A Great Present!

Three days before Christmas I received a call from Charlie asking if I would write a story about myself and send pictures of my family. WOW – what an honor for a girl in a small town in Oklahoma to be noticed from the Corporate Office. I was so excited I immediately called my husband and dad to share my good news. They had been my biggest cheerleaders over the last 6 months and I felt they deserved the honor too! My family and my Lord have been the biggest reason for my success.

It all started 18 months ago when I was in a boutique in Alaska and saw a Mia Bella Candle being advertised as hypo-allergenic. My sons and I have terrible allergies but I didn’t want to travel with a heavy candle so I made a mental note to find one when I got home. Of course, life happened and I totally forgot. Then in June 2005 I received an online newsletter and the sponsored ad was by Deb Warren. I immediately sent her an email and after reading her response, I was so excited that I signed up that night! We were headed to Arkansas for a weekend camping trip so I printed everything I could to read during the drive. For the next week I got very little sleep and kept a notebook of ideas. I believed from that first weekend this business was a blessing from God and that I was going to be successful.

That first month I read everything about fundraising, craft fairs and parties. I was so nervous driving to my first fundraiser meeting. I prayed that the Lord would give me the words so that I would represent my product well. They were so excited and ended up selling 460 candles! I was ecstatic and felt unstoppable if I continued to pray, work hard and give God the glory! Needless to say, that fundraiser grew my business quickly. I started receiving calls non-stop for more candles and business questions too. My husband and I did 5 craft fairs in 5 months together – gaining more contacts and business partners. I was awarded Top Retailer for August and October which not only surprised me but really got me even more motivated. I was having more fun in just a few months than I had ever had as a CPA.

I believe that this business has truly changed my life. I know that is a big statement to make but for me and my family, it’s true! My husband said to me that he had never seen me so excited and passionate about a project. I will now talk to strangers with a lot more confidence, I will go to homes for parties and “run the show” and I will call strangers and talk to them about joining this phenomenal company. I never would have done any of that before. I thank God all the time for this opportunity and I pray for my current and future business partners too. I believe that with such an incredible product, a positive attitude, constant daily action, reading motivating books, being on conference calls and having the support of your family – well, there is no where to go but UP!

I have big goals for 2006 and after reading Mach II With Your Hair On Fire (sent to me from Jackie Ulmer over the holidays), I am even more excited! I KNOW I will succeed. Thanks Deb for all you do for me! And Thanks Charlie for letting me share my story (and for making my Christmas even more special)!

New Distributor Having Great Success!

Editor's Note: Jackie Ulmer sent us these e-mails from one of her new distributors

"This is Matthew Monahan I want you to know I recieved my candles today! I really can't believe the smell that was leaking from the box and this was from FROZEN candles! They were sitting in about 5 degree weather all day! I began opening all the boxes I recieved and had a blast smelling them all! Then several hours went on and they defrosted. My whole house was like a small Mia Bella Candle factory! My mom came home went straight in the room where I am storing them and called her friends! Needless to say I sold 19 candles between 5 people! Just by "smelling and selling" This is great! I was kinda worried about it until today! I am on the wagon full tilt! I can't wait to get going on the shows and recruiting!"

He sent another e-mail shortly after...

"Hey Jackie this is Matthew again.  I just can't help and tell you the success I am having so far!  I decided to pack up some candles to bring to my moms work (since she loves these candles so much and she works at the local school district).  So I brought a box of candles and some bella bars, hand wash and body wash.  Well that was about 3 hours ago.  I recieved a call from my mom saying she needed 2 more boxes! This first investment of candles I purchased was suppose to be for getting ready for craft shows! I am just worried I have so many people interested I am going to be out of candles very soon!  I do have the sample bag to use but people are going crazy over these candles! I really didn't expect this kind of reaction, at least not this fast! Thanks for the GREAT e-mails you have beeen sending me. I have been learning A LOT! I can't wait to apply the things you have sent me!"

New Local Distributor Enjoying The Business
It was a pleasure meeting you today! It was my first visit & I plan on making many, many more. Everyone at the company was in a good mood and very helpful. That impressed on me.
I also enjoyed talking to you. You can tell you love what you do. that is very rare but refreshing to see.

I like being able to come down and pick up only what I need and to choose a box of mixed-votives. On my way into the house, as I was unloading the products my neighbor asked what it was. I sold her 2 jars right there!

I enjoy the candles so much myself, that I just had to get into the business of selling them and sharing them with others. I hope to see you again soon!

Bad Luck At Show Brings Good Experiences
Mary WarrenI’ve been with Scent-Sations Inc since 8/2004 and I’m so happy to be a part of this family.

I had an opportunity to do a 3-day women’s show in West Palm Beach, Florida, this past October and after much deliberation because of the cost involved, I decided to jump in with both feet. I signed up about a month before Fall Fling was announced and guess what? Bobby and Charlie picked the same weekend for the Fling as my show, and they didn’t even consult me! HA! PLUS my own daughter, PATTI PRICE, cancelled on helping me when she found out Fling was the same weekend!

I proceeded to make plans and prepare for my first big show. The promotion company estimated anywhere from 12,000 to 25,000 people based on other shows they produce around the southeast.

OMG! Panic! How much product do I take? How many CDs do I need to burn? What about the number of brochures? I "talked" with Shep Kuester about "less is more" and decided on 14 different scents, some Christmas, some regular. I got my tables and carpet secured; stuck labels on all my jars and about a thousand brochures; burned about 100 CDs; and grated a dozen votives for giveaway samples. I even bought those nice corrugated displays and made my table and display covers. WONDERFUL! I was ready!

THEN 2 days before we were supposed to "move in", Hurricane WILMA came to town and wreaked havoc!

Power was out all over 3 counties, streets were flooded, and the convention center where the show was being held had become a shelter for those in need. Needless to say, the show was cancelled that weekend.

After Patti made sure we were all right, she suggested I hop a plane and come up for the Fling. That’s all fine and good, but the airport was closed and the trains weren’t running and well, I stayed home and stacked the debris from all the enclosed patios that somehow ended up in our front yard and prayed for the traffic signals to be back in operation before I had to return to my day job (NO ONE here knows what a 4-way stop is).

I received an email from the promoters of the 3-day show with rescheduled dates of December 9-11. GREAT! Just a couple of weeks before Christmas, last minute shoppers, traffic lights operating, and that retailing spirit was all I needed to get back in the groove. I got busy rechecking all my show items.

I did the "move in" on Wednesday and double checked on Thursday for any missing pieces. Good to go! I met the vendors around me (the show had about 400 in all). They were all excited about the opening day because from their past experience shoppers were always outside waiting in line to get in before the doors opened. YEAH! This was going to be a wonderful experience for me.

The first day started out slow. Shoppers weren’t at the doors waiting to get in. It was a Friday and I said that there should be plenty of people coming in at lunch time. Lunch time came and went and so did about 10 shoppers. I said business would pick up after 3:30 because people would be getting off work. By the time the show closed at 8pm, we saw about 100 shoppers.

On the second day of the show, everyone who walked by heard, "I’ve got Hot Apple Pie in a Jar! No one will ever know you didn’t bake all day, and they’ll be looking for a piece". I was able to get them to stop, smell the candle, and use my finger to circle the top of the jar while saying they were natural wax candles with cotton wicks that wouldn’t "leave all that black messy stuff around the top of your jar, and if it’s on the jar, it’s on your walls and ceilings."

Shoppers enjoyed the smell of all the candles, and some bought, some didn’t. In fact, most didn’t. The other vendors were not selling anything either. There were a lot of factors and we will never really know why the show was such a stinker.

But what I do know is this. It’s not always about the money. This was a valuable experience for me. I got over my fear of talking to total strangers who had nothing in common with me. I was able to show my excitement about our product to everyone who walked by. I gave out brochures, business cards, and CDs, as well as signed up about 200 people for my free drawing while adding to my customer base. But most importantly I was able to keep a positive attitude, be a good example to other vendors, and get my 30-second speech perfected.

Next time, I’ll be ready.

Kathy Schneider on "Why Sponsor Monster?"
I was asked, “How important to you is it to be a ‘Top Gun Recruiter’ or ‘Sponsor Monster’?"

The day after the request, I was re-reading my twice annual read of Mach II Starring You, by my personal favorite trainer in the industry, Richard Brooke.

As I flipped the page, I found my answer in the following poem:

Who Are You to Play Small?
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, or just talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we inconspicuously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson

Then, Richard goes on to say:

Do you believe our Creator would allow us to have a worthwhile desire and then not give us the ability to achieve it? That would be cruel mockery.

I could NOT have said it better!

Yes, I KNOW I benefit from those on my team by ‘giving them permission to do the same and let their light shine’ but what puts a smile on my face is KNOWING they, too are going to benefit!

January Product Showcase: Scent-Sations Bella Bar Testimonials

Bella Bars

I first got the Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper one. Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved the fragrance of it. I went in and washed my face. I came out and had everyone feel my skin. It was so soft and clean. I went in and washed my face about 2 more times through the night. It didn't get irritated or anything being cleaned that much.

It just smell so wonderful and my bathroom and bedroom just have the scent from it for quite a while. I had to go to work and took a shower beforehand. I didn't put on perfume because my skin just smelled so good and my co-worker could smell it also. I was there for quite a while. I'm hooked on it. I have always used glycerin soap on my face, love it, then got some olive oil soap when I went to Israel a few times and I love that also. I haven't used any of it though since I have the Bella Bar. I think it is a real good product.

Thank you,
Elaine Gray

This soap converted my husband, who is definitely not a converter. He has used ordinary soap his entire life because his dermatologist told him to, because he has a problem with eczema type skin and dry patches. Well, one time he was out of ordinary soap in the shower and nobody was within screaming distance to bring him more, so he used my soap. He is now a faithful Bella Bar user. He takes it when he travels too. It is without a doubt the best soap on the market!

I sent a Grape Fruit and Lavender bar to my Mom for her birthday and my step dad used it. At the time he had Chigger bites. Chiggers are bad in Arkansas. He said that it took the itch out and cleared up the bites on his leg. I guess I will be taking these bars up every time that I visit because Red bugs love me!

I have several testimonies regarding our Bella Bars. The one that I love the most is from Betty, who is the Team Leader for Patrolling for a Cure, Relay for Life American Cancer Society. When I first met Betty, being a fellow dog lover, she told me about her Lab that they were considering putting to sleep. The dog had a severe skin disorder that the Vets had not been able to help with all their drugs, creams, and what all they tried. I told Betty that she had nothing to lose and should try the Bella Bar on her dog. Long story short, after one use her dog showed improvement and after several more baths, her dog now sports a shiny coat and is 100% fine! That's my favorite! One "human" testimony is from the same gal (she's a believer in our Bella Bars. A friend of hers has been bothered by extreme dry skin (a disorder) which affected his ears. Nothing the Doctor's did helped. So Betty suggested he try a Bella Bar, and walla, no more skin problems! These are my two favorites!

I got my first COM program shipment today! I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive.

I used the Bella bar tonight and washed my hair with it. I was instantly impressed on how easily it lathered up. Just a few rubs in my hands and it lathered in my hair like I had used a palm full of shampoo (And I have hair down past the middle of my back).

After my hair dried, I loved the body and fullness it had. I had to have full hysterectomy back in 98 and my hair has been getting thinner and thinner ever since. So I have been buying the expensive name brand shampoo/conditioner for years for body, thickness and fullness. Needless to say I am very happy! My husband came home from work and noticed a difference. Then my sister came over and asked me what I did to my hair!

This is really awesome :)

Does anyone know how a Bella bar compares to a bottle of shampoo in terms of usage? It takes so very little of the Bella bar to do what a lot of shampoo does. I think this could be a great selling point for this product when comparing the costs (I'm one of those people who is always looking at the costs of things and comparing so that I do not "waste" my money).

Now, I wish we had a detangler to go with it.

The very first COTM I received I opened up my Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper bella bar and hopped in the shower. I loved the lather, and how smooth my skin felt – even in a steaming hot shower! When I dried off and reached for my moisturizer – I stopped cold! I realized that I DIDN’T NEED IT! I was really in disbelief so I tried it on my face – which is usually SUPER dry especially in the winter. Again – NO need for a separate moisturizer!

A few months have passed and I’ve been using my bella bar on my face and body daily. I had heard all of the testimonies about using it to wash your HAIR with, but didn’t dare try. I have chemically treated hair that I spend a LOT of money on, and I didn’t want to chance ruining it. Well, after reading more and more testimonials I sat down and did some math. I had been spending $40/MONTH on designer shampoo & conditioner & styling mousse from my salon. The bella bar is basically FREE (since I consider the COTM of $39.95 just for the amazing candles! The bar is a “bonus” in my opinion!).

So, I figured that if it DID work and didn’t damage my hair, I would basically PAY FOR MY COTM with the money I saved on the designer shampoo etc. So I tried it.

Well, it’s been almost a MONTH and I have not seen ANY signs of advanced fading or other damage to my hair. In fact, the body that it has NOW is far beyond what I got from the expensive shampoo that I paid EXTRA for to give me “full body”! Additionally, I have stopped using the mousse too! I just run my brush through, give a little spritz of spray and I’m DONE!

So – the bella bar has saved me TIME and MONEY! I LOVE IT! Thank you for such a unique and useful product!

My Aunt purchased a Bella Bar from me and when it finally ran out, she used whatever was in the shower.  Well, she said her very dry skin was just out of control and she could not wait to order 4 more from me!  So glad it made her ailing skin feel so good! Take Care!

I just signed up a couple weeks ago and have to say that these Bella Bars are absolutely amazing!

My dad has multiple sclerosis and itched all the time. His scalp was itching so badly that he couldn't sleep at night. I took him a Bella Bar and told him to use it in the shower and wash his head and hair with it. After one day, his itching was better and after a week, even better than that! It is working so well he's not taking any of his medicine for the itching!

And my ten month old son had eczema real bad on his legs and feet. It would itch him like crazy! I started bathing him with a Bella Bar and even washing his hair with it. His eczema is all cleared up and his little bit of cradle cap is completely gone, too!

I'm already sold out of my Bella Bars, and had to order more. My friends and family are sold on them!

Jamie Habermaas

A lady that I work with bought a grapefruit and lavender Bella Bar from me the other day.  She called me a few nights later to say, "I LOVE that soap---That is the best soap I've ever used---That's the cleanest I've ever felt---You just feel squeaky clean all over!!!"  Needless to say, she ordered 15 more that day--some for herself and the others to give as gifts during the holidays! She's a walking commercial for our Bella Bars!

Thanks!

I have to share this with you all.  My maple syrup candle of the month came finally and my stepdaughter said WOW, I like the smell of that soap (Juniper Breeze). I could not smell it as it smelled like maple syrup to me.

Anyhow we have not opened and tried a bar of soap yet since I started as I am saving all of my candle of the month's for craft shows in the spring. I keep hearing you all talk about how great the soap works so I finally caved! I gave her the soap and said here you go Merry Christmas. Well she tried it and LOVED it! She said "It makes me feel so soft and OMG look at my hair!" So of course I had to try it I do like it but it did not work miracles for my hair like it did hers.

She went to work that night and had everyone ask here if she dyed it got it cut etc. She said NOPE I took a shower with a new bar of soap! She said she WILL be buying that stuff.

My hubby likes it but really wants slate and stone as his special bar. He said he does not think the guys at work will like to smell him as juniper breeze (He also said he is not going to shower again until slate and stone is made. He was kidding of course). My stepson then tried the soap and said it kind of worries him on how soft his skin feels. He said men are supposed to have "manly" hands. But he did like it and he is looking forward to slate and stone as well.

They're FANTASTIC!  These bars have replaced my shampoo and my shaving cream as well as, obviously, my body soap.  My favorite (and Lise's too) is Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper.  The fresh fragrance and the squeaky clean feeling it leaves us with is second to none.  Lise has sensitive skin, especially on her face, and the Bella bar is the only soap she's been able to use that doesn't irritate her skin.

Recently I was having my hair cut in Florida and the hair stylist commented "You have the most beautiful hair!"  Not a comment that many men get in their lifetimes.  She said "you have the nicest hair of any man I have ever cut... what do you use?"  When I told her I use "soap" she scoffed "No!  Soap can't do this!"  Of course, I said that the Mia Bella SoySational Bars are not just "any" soap.  I continued on with telling her about our wonderful products and left her with a brochure, cd and sample scents.

Lise and I never leave home without at least a couple of Bella bars, we never know just how long we'll be gone.  Not only that, but every time we leave our hotel room the first question to each other is "Did you remember to get the Bella Bar out of the shower?"... usually followed by a quick check to make sure we didn't leave it behind!  It's that special!

More Distributors Having Great Success With Fund-Raisers

Red & JeannieHi, Charlie, just a quick note of thanks for giving us the grand tour of the plant on the Monday after Fall Fling. We also want to thank you for expediting our 1st fundraiser candles last week. We received them in great shape on Friday, and delivered them Monday morning 12-5-05.

The senior class of 16 kids who held the fundraiser sold 107 candles in just 15 days. They asked my wife Jeannie if they can do another fundraiser in the spring, as the proceeds are going for their senior trip. Of course she told them they can indeed do another fundraiser with us!

Jeannie has another fundraiser appointment next Monday with a church where we did a bazaar this fall. They need to pave their parking lot, so they will need to sell lots of candles! Well, I have taken enough of your time. Many thanks again, we have caught the vision, and you will be hearing lots about us. See you in March.

Red & Jeannie Dzielak

Pre-KHarper Elementary School's Pre-K class and Fourth grade class held a Mia Bella Fundraiser over their Thanksgiving break and sold 186 jar candles! The students were raising money for their class trip and were very pleased with the results of the fundraiser.

These are pictures of both the Pre-K class and the Fourth grade class with their favorite Mia Bella scents. Mrs. Payne, the Pre-K teacher, presented the fundraiser and did a super job promoting the candles. She set up a table in the school office and had a candle table at the schools Fall Festival. She decided to offer all the scents for the fundraiser.

4th gradeThe children took home order forms and brochures with a scent sample attached. The best selling scents were: Mulberry Spice, Texas Cedarwood, Apple Cinnamon, Cinnamon, Sex on the Beach, Pumpkin Spice, and French Vanilla. Thank you Mrs. Payne and the Harper Elementary Pre-K and Fourth Grade class.

A Vision of Success for the New Year

Deb WarrenI love the spirit of celebrating a New Year. It’s a time to refine our goals, renew our commitments, and rejuvenate our action plans for personal growth and business achievements.

What is your vision of success for this New Year?

What will you achieve in 2006? As you establish your resolutions and goals for your business, I invite you to take this a step further and see yourself achieving these intentions as you visualize your success for the New Year.

Vision is the force that will shape your destiny in your business. It will inspire your actions, guide your choices, and move you in the direction of abundance. Visualization will strengthen your belief in achieving your dreams and it will allow you to live your successes in your mind long before you live them in reality.

Visualization is not just sitting around day dreaming or thinking about what might be, but actively “seeing” what will be. It is the mental rehearsal of your intentions and one of the most powerful strategies of world class achievers.

To establish the highest vision for your life, you will need to set aside your limiting beliefs and open up the abundance of your imagination. See beyond your present reality. Visualize your life exactly as you want it to be and exactly how it will enfold. Your vision should be so powerful that during the process of achieving it, you’ll internalize it and feel it as reality.

Create your vision. Identify a goal or intention for your Scent Sations business. Is your passion to be a top retailer, build a dynamic team, or reach the leadership level of Diamond, Director or beyond? Imagine yourself achieving that goal with as much sensory detail and imagery as possible. Write with visual language and in the present tense, as if you are living it right now.

  • How do you look? What’s new about your appearance?
  • How do you feel? What is your state of mind?
  • What are you doing? Describe the sounds, smells, and sights.
  • Who are the people you are with at that moment?
  • Where are you living?
  • How are you spending your time? What activities are you doing?
  • Are you enjoying abundance in the areas of business, social, intellectual, and spiritual?
  • What is your financial picture?
  • What does your success look like?

Connect with your vision. Picture your success by creating physical anchors that will keep you focused on your vision every day.

  • Make a Dream Board or collage of pictures, words, and phrases that represent and express your vision. Display these on a bulletin board, poster board, or in a vision notebook.
  • Share your vision with family and friends so they can support you on the journey
  • Read inspiring stories of those who have realized their vision.
  • Keep a Success Journal and write about your daily action steps leading you to your vision
  • Condense your vision into a “power phrase” to use as your computer screen saver.
  • Frame a written version of your vision

Succeed with your vision. A vision is just a dream until we take purposeful action.

  • Develop a concrete plan for achieving your goal
  • Pick a date when you will reach your vision
  • Work backwards adding milestones to your calendar that will lead to your destination
  • Commit to daily action bringing you closer to your first milestone
  • Celebrate small victories moving you toward your vision

Read and reflect upon your vision everyday. Commit to the results you’re looking for, and unleash the energy to take yourself to the edge. As you do, your confidence in your success will gain momentum. Trust yourself and create your future.

If you believe in your dreams, they may come true. If you believe in yourself, create a strong vision, and commit to action, your dreams will come true.

Great Ideas For Purchasing Crafting Materials
I would like to share some great idea's where to purchase items to be used for craft making. I shop at several locations and have saved a lot of money. The best place to buy items is your local Thrift Store or Salvation Army. I have found many of items that had nothing wrong with them and were able to be used in my crafts. The other places that I go are: The Dollar Tree, The 99 cents Store, Family Dollar. These places have the same items you would see at Wal-Mart, Kmart, Michael's and you don't pay much for them.

Well just wanted to let my fellow crafter's know that making crafts is fun and not expensive.

Thanks

“One Stop Shopping Expo” a Big Hit in Maine!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kimberly Severance and I have been with Scent-Sations since November 2003. I wanted to share something with all of you.

Last November, I was approached by a small group of ladies who were all Independent Distributors/Consultants for home-based-businesses. They had organized a Shopping Extravaganza. We all paid $50.00 for our tables and that took care of the hall and food. We ended up with 10 businesses and we had a lot of customers show up, to either purchase products on hand or place orders for Christmas.

In April of this year, we had another shopping event before Mother’s Day. This time no one wanted to take charge, so I decided to organize it with the help of a friend. I called it “One Stop Shopping Expo”. We contacted the ladies who had participated before to see if they wanted to attend. We ended up having it in May with 17 businesses participating. The participating companies and customers had a great time, shopping and enjoying munchies. I immediately began preparing for an expo in November, for Christmas shoppers. When I started organizing this one, I received calls from different businesses that we didn’t have before, that wanted to participate. We had our “Holiday One Stop Shopping Expo” this past weekend, November 13 from 12 - 5, and had a total of 26 businesses participating, and I SOLD FOR $780.00 (not bad for 5 hours).

Here is what we do... we rent a hall and set the tables all along the walls. In the middle of the room, we had a few appetizers and beverages for the customers (like a home party), and had tables and chairs for them to sit at. This way they could walk around and take brochures, sit down and place orders. I had lots of compliments from my participants that they had a great time and would like to keep having our Shopping Expo twice a year. One lady e-mailed me today and said she sold a lot of her inventory and had 15 prospects for home parties. If you would like more info on how to organize one please feel free to contact me @ 207-989-6357 or kssoycandles@adelphia.net

Gail Wahl, Distributor of the Month
Gail WahlMy name is Gail Wahl and I have been a distributor with Scent-Sations for just over a year now. I began this journey not having a clue of what I was really getting into. I was just a mom, looking for an extra income to help with the little extra essentials of life; new drive way, braces for the kids, health insurance, etc. I am sure many can all relate. My husband and I wanted me to be able to stay at home with our two boys and yet earn that extra income. A friend suggested I do a search on the Internet for some ideas of how to accomplish this.

I had no idea what I would find on the Internet. There was a whole other world that I was unaware of; job opportunities, training, message boards, ideas for everything. I certainly was NOT looking for an MLM. This was an idea that really did not appeal to me. However, I happened upon an ad for the Mia Bella opportunity and after reading through the personal web site of the person sponsoring the ad, I fell in love with the idea. Multiple streams of marketing (no parties, yeah!), a great profit margin, low start up cost, and most of all, a product that most people already purchased. I was not going to have to convince them they needed it. I do not have a “sales” personality. I don’t like to have to convince anyone of anything. However, if I am passionate about something I can be very convincing.

The passion that I have found for the business and the Mia Bella products have been, at times, overwhelming. My husband is astounded at the energy I have put into this endeavor. I, myself am amazed that after a year I am still going strong.

I became a Diamond in three months and have steadily built my team and my customer base over the last year. I attribute the success I have found in this exciting business to a number of things:

1. The quality and integrity of the company and its’ leadership. The weekly training and support is invaluable.
2. The quality of the products. I could never sell a product I did not believe in.
3. The multiple streams of income (retail, residual, fundraising) create an environment where I can never get board. There is always some new avenue to try.
4. The low start up cost and lack of company mandates and quotas affords me the ability to invest in areas of the business that I might not be able to if I had to put out each month to meet a quota.

I feel so blessed that God led me to this journey. I have learned so much and experienced great joy along the way. I have developed many wonderful friendships as I have built my team and gotten to know many of the other incredible Mia Bella Distributors around the world.

I want to share that, through my experience, this is not a home based business where you are considered a step in the ladder to riches and everyone is in it for themselves. This is a family business where everyone supports and encourages one another towards the success of the entire company and all who are in it.

Thank you Scent-Sations for creating a company where so many people can tangibly reach the success that they desire. You make it so easy!
